The Olympic Town with his traditional and scenic center host also the yearly Ski World Cup. Garmisch-Partenkirchen rings in each year with world-class winter sports events. In January and February, the world’s top athletes flock to Garmisch for first-class competitions such as the "Vierschanzen-Tournee" (Four-Hill Ski Jumping Tournament) on 01 January 2007 and the Men's Alpine Ski World Cup on 23 to 25 February 2007. In 2011 the World Championship Wintersports will take place in Garmisch as well. Each year, there are also enthusiastic crowds cheering for typical Bavarian sports such as "Hornschlittenrennen" (traditional sled racing).
